A RESOLUTION
Establishing the Select Committee on the Jobs of the Future to
investigate, review and make findings and recommendations
regarding opportunities for the development of new
industries, including advanced manufacturing, in this
Commonwealth.
WHEREAS, The worldwide pandemic caused by the novel
coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) demonstrated America's concerning
dependence on foreign nations to manufacture and produce
critical supplies; and
WHEREAS, Most of this critical supply chain is manufactured
offshore using high-tech techniques that were developed and
created in this Commonwealth's research, technology and higher
education institutions; and
WHEREAS, It is most important for America's national security
and economy to ensure that critical supplies and other goods are
produced and manufactured domestically; and
WHEREAS, This Commonwealth is uniquely positioned to reshore
