An Act amending the act of December 29, 1972 (P.L.1701, No.364), known as the Health Maintenance Organization Act, adding and amending certain definitions; further providing for services to be provided and for certificates of authority; providing for a quality assurance plan, for credentialing, for medical records and standards, for certain rights of members, for additional powers and duties of the Department of Health and the Department of Public Welfare, for a grievance procedure, for choice of primary care practitioner, for consumer and provider information and for managed care plan effectiveness reports; further providing for boards of directors and for certain contracts, reports and examinations; establishing the Managed Care Advisory Committee in the Department of Health and providing for its powers and duties; providing for medical assistance managed care planning requirements and for certain reports to the General Assembly; and further providing for penalties.
