THOMAS A. EDISON AND JOSEPH PRIESTLY BRIDGE DESIGNATIONS
                  Act of Jun. 15, 1988, P.L. 456, No. 76              Cl. 87
                                  AN ACT

     Designating certain bridges crossing the Susquehanna River at
        Sunbury as the Thomas A. Edison Bridge and the Joseph
        Priestley Bridge.

        The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     hereby enacts as follows:

     Section 1.  Names of bridges.
        (a)  The bridge on State Route 147 connecting the City of
     Sunbury and the island in the Susquehanna River is hereby
     officially designated and shall be known as the Thomas A. Edison
     Bridge.
        (b)  The bridge on State Route 147 connecting the Borough of
     Northumberland and the island in the Susquehanna River is hereby
     officially designated and shall be known as the Joseph Priestley
     Bridge.
     Section 2.  Erection of markers.
        The Department of Transportation shall erect suitable markers
     in order to carry out this act.
     Section 3.  Effective date.
        This act shall take effect in 60 days.
