HIGHWAYS, ROADS, BRIDGES CONDEMNATION OF
                  Act of Jun. 9, 1939, P.L. 318, No. 175 Cl. 36
                                  AN ACT

To provide that, under certain conditions, roads, highways,
bridges, and other highway structures may be constructed to
such width as may be determined by the authorities
responsible for such highways, and providing for condemnation
of land and payment of damages therefor.

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     hereby enacts as follows:

Section 1. In any case where the authorities responsible for
the maintenance of a road, highway, or bridge shall deem it
advisable to construct or reconstruct such road, highway, or
bridge, and to condemn land therefor to a greater width than now
provided by law, for the purpose of providing separations of
grades of highways, or construction of grade separation
structures, or for the construction of "cloverleaf" connections,
or in any other manner to provide adequate highways at
intersections, it shall be lawful for such authority to condemn
land of sufficient width for such purposes, notwithstanding the
provisions of any law fixing the maximum width of roads,
highways, and bridges to the contrary.
Section 2. Any damages sustained by the owner or owners of
land entered upon for the purposes stated in this act shall be
paid in the same manner as provided by law in the construction
of roads, highways, or bridges by such authorities.
