Subject: | Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force Program Enhancement |
In the near future, I will introduce legislation to support and expand upon a federal program to aid in the prosecution of technology-facilitated child sexual exploitation and internet crimes against children. The United States Department of Justice has the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force Program under its jurisdiction, where state and local task forces can receive training, funding, and technical assistance in carrying out their duties for the protection of children online. 61 federally recognized task forces are currently under this program, including one in Pennsylvania. My legislation would set up a process by which state and local task forces would be established across the Commonwealth, which would supplement and enhance the work of the existing task forces. By augmenting the funding and tools needed to better investigate and prosecute these horrendous crimes, our children will be safer and better protected. Please join me in supporting this important legislation to protect Pennsylvania’s children. |
