Subject: Resolution Condemning the Continued War in Ukraine

In the near future, we will be introducing a resolution condemning the continued war in Ukraine. Today, the world recognizes the one-year anniversary of Russia’s unprovoked and brutal invasion of Ukraine. With over 120,000 individuals, Pennsylvania is home to the second largest population of Ukrainian Americans in the United States. We trail only New York.

Additionally, our districts have some of the oldest Ukrainian communities in the country. These citizens have supported churches, a chapter of the Ukrainian National Woman’s League of America, a post of the Ukrainian American Veterans, and numerous other organizations and projects for over a century.

It is our responsibility to show our continued support for the Ukrainian people both at home and abroad. It is crucial that this resolution advocates for the continued sanctions the United States and other countries have placed against Russia. This resolution is an appropriate response to Russia’s illegal attack on Ukraine's sovereignty.

It is our hope that the war will soon come to an end, and peace and prosperity can continue to strengthen in Eastern Europe for generations to come. Please join us in co-sponsoring this important resolution.
