Subject: Recognizing Local Government Day and Week in Pennsylvania
 
As Chairs of the Senate Local Government Committee, we will be introducing a resolution recognizing April 12, 2023, as "Local Government Day" and April 9 through 15, 2023, as "Local Government Week" in the Commonwealth.

Pennsylvania is home to a multitude of local government entities staffed by dedicated individuals who provide services that are essential to the daily lives of our constituents. As the units of government closest to the people, local governments are the "backbone" of our democratic system of governance in the Commonwealth.

Please join us in showing appreciation for our local governments, their officials, employees, and many volunteers who work hard to provide effective representation and services to their residents.
