| Subject: | Resolution to recognize PA’s contribution to Operation Desert Shield & Desert Storm |
| In the near future, we intend to offer the following resolution: Resolution to recognize PA’s contribution to Operation Desert Shield & Desert Storm February marks the 32nd anniversary of the conclusion of Operation Desert Storm. The conflict was an important moment in our nation’s military history and the overwhelming victory was the fruit of decades of training and professionalism. Our resolution will commemorate all service members, as well as those who served in the Southwest Asia Theater of Operations in support of the liberation of Kuwait. It will also specifically focus on the bravery, valor, and sacrifice by Pennsylvanians throughout the conflict. This resolution is particularly poignant in that Pennsylvania suffered unusually high casualties after an Iraqi Scud missile hit a facility in Saudi Arabia that housed men and women from the western part of our state. Please join us in co-sponsoring this resolution that mourns the loss of our heroes and remembers Pennsylvania's contribution to the liberation of Kuwait. |
