Subject: Designate March as Art, Music, Theatre and Dance In Our Schools Month
 
There are many studies out there that show how important Art, Music, Theatre and Dance are in our schools. Studies show that the arts can help improve test scores, assist in the development of teamwork, cognative thinking and imagination, lead to higher engagement in academics, and boost self-confidence.  

It is for this reason that we should designate the month of March 2023 as “Music in Our Schools Month,” “Theatre in Our Schools Month,” “Dance in Our Schools Month,” and “Youth Art Month” in Pennsylvania.

 I hope you will join me in co-sponsoring this important resolution to celebrate the arts in our schools.
