Subject: | Condolence Resolution for Former Representative Jeffrey Pyle |
In the near future I plan to introduce a condolence resolution honoring the life and achievements of former Representative Jeffrey Pyle who passed away on September 14, 2022, at the age of 58, following a long battle with cancer. Representative Pyle served the people of the 60th Legislative District for 16 years from 2005 until 2021. Prior to his tenure as a member of the General Assembly, Representative Pyle served as the Mayor of Ford City in Armstrong County. Representative Pyle was a passionate educator and taught American History, Government, and Sociology for the Armstrong School District from 1992 to 2004. As a teacher, Representative Pyle was awarded “Educator of the Year” in 1999 by the Armstrong School District for his work in drug abuse prevention as well as being named “Conservation Educator of the Year” in 2000 by the Armstrong Conservation District. Representative Pyle’s dedication to education will be memorialized by the completion of a project he championed over the past several years: the construction of a new Butler County Community College campus in Ford City. While serving in the General Assembly, Representative Pyle left a lasting impact on members in both chambers for his strong work ethic, good humor, enthusiasm, and genuine nature. With his passing, Representative Pyle leaves behind his loving wife Michele and their two daughters, Lauren and Katherine. Please join me in co-sponsoring this condolence resolution to honor the life and achievements of this public servant and outstanding citizen. |
