| Subject: | Indoor Farms Tax Credit |
| In the near future, I intend to introduce legislation to create a sales and use tax exemption for indoor farming operations. These operations are capital intensive and would benefit from similar treatment that data centers recently received in Pennsylvania. A similar operation recently opened in my district. It grows crops without pesticides and with 95% less water. These operations are ones we should try to incentivize to locate in other areas of Pennsylvania. Similar to the data center credit, the program would allow for sales tax exemptions for companies meeting certain investment and payroll thresholds. The idea is to mirror the data center tax credit to create an environment to enhance the already robust agricultural industry in Pennsylvania.
