Subject: | Extension of Act 118 of 2020 (Small Games of Chance – 60% for General Operating Expenses for Clubs) |
As I continue to hear from clubs and service organizations in the 50th Senatorial District, including our American Legions, VFWs, and Moose Lodges who are still struggling to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic, I plan to introduce legislation extending Act 118 of 2020. Act 118 allows clubs to use the 60% of Small Games of Chance money to cover the general operating expenses of the club, including rent, payroll and utilities, during an emergency disaster. Typically the proceeds from games are split 60% to charitable purposes and 40% to remain with the clubs. Under Act 118, clubs will be able to use the 60% until June 19, 2022. My legislation will extend this deadline to December 31, 2022 in order to give these vital service organizations more time to recover and keep their doors open to remain an integral part of our communities. |
