Subject: | Titan's Law -- Protecting Pennsylvania's Police Animals |
In the near future, I plan to introduce legislation that will protect Pennsylvania’s police animals. Following a recent tragic death of Johnstown Police Department K-9 Officer Titan, it was made apparent to the Johnstown community that there was a need to further protect police animals in our Commonwealth. Titan’s Law will do two things to protect police animals serving the Commonwealth. This legislation will make it unlawful to cause serious bodily injury or death to a police animal while the individual is in the perpetuation of a felony. It will also allow EMT’s and police officers to transport injured police animals to receive emergency medical care if there is not an individual in need of immediate medical attention. Please join me in co-sponsoring this important legislation. |
Introduced as SB628
