| Subject: | Land Conveyance to Human Services, Inc |
| Human Services, Inc. is a nonprofit community mental health agency that has served the people of Chester County since its creation in 1972. For over twenty years, Human Services, Inc. has contracted with the Chester County Department of Mental Health/Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities to provide vital services to our community. It has also provided residential services to adults with persistent mental illness at a property in the Borough of West Chester. In 2018, it was discovered that a previous land conveyance initiative from 1992 was never completed and that the state of Pennsylvania is still listed as the owner of this West Chester property. It is important that we resolve this issue and permit the conveyance of this land to Human Services, Inc. so that it can continue to help our Chester County community and provide needed services unencumbered. I plan to introduce legislation to authorize the Department of General Services, with approval by the Governor, to convey land to Human Services, Inc. for the total price of $1.00. Please join me in co-sponsoring this simple, yet necessary, piece of legislation so that Human Services, Inc. can continue to serve the people of Chester County, just as it has done for nearly 50 years.
