Subject: | Tax Credit for Manufacturers to Manufacture Personal Protective Equipment |
In the near future, I plan on reintroducing SB 1113 of the 2019-20 session to create a tax credit program for manufacturers who convert or retrofit their facilities and operations in order to produce personal protective equipment or who produce equipment necessary for the production of personal protective equipment to help with the Commonwealth’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Under my legislation, a business that converts or retrofits their existing facility and operations will be able to get a tax credit equal to 100% of the costs associated with the conversion or retrofit. The program is capped at $50 million annually. A business would be eligible for the tax credit if the conversion or retrofit was done to produce or aid in the production of personal protective equipment in order to assist with the Commonwealth’s COVID-19 response. Please join me in sponsoring this legislation. Previous co-sponsors included Senators Hughes, Farnese, Collett, Fontana, Santarsiero, Schwank, Brewster, Gordner, A.
