Subject: Volunteer Firefighter Drivers Registration Fee Waiver
 
In the near future, I plan on introducing legislation to waive the drivers registration fee for active volunteer firefighters in the Commonwealth. This legislation will apply to active volunteer firefighters with a firefighter designation indicated on their personal driver’s license plate. This legislation aims to assist the many brave men and women who serve our communities.

Our volunteer fire companies are seeing a decline in membership over the past decades. This legislation is not only intended to help recruit more volunteer firefighters, but to also show appreciation for the service they provide to the Commonwealth and their local communities. I hope you will join me in co-sponsoring this legislation.
