Subject: September as Senior Center Month
 
I will soon introduce a resolution recognizing September 2020 as "Senior Center Month" in Pennsylvania. The 2020 theme is: Senior Centers: Delivering Vital Connections.

Preventing social isolation is vital and a core senior center mission. While the delivery methods have changed during the pandemic, centers have succeeded in continuing to provide knowledge, programming, and resources.

Senior centers, through a wide array of services, programs and activities, play a vital role in and empower the lives of older residents to contribute to their own health and well-being and the health and well-being of their fellow residents of all ages.

This resolution specifically recognizes the special contributions of senior center staff and volunteers who work diligently to enhance the health and well-being of our Commonwealth's older citizens.
