Subject: | State Agency Lean Process Improvement System |
In the near future, I plan on introducing legislation which will better align the operations of state agencies to efficient businesses using a Lean process improvement system. Used in private sector, the Lean process improvement system utilizes outside professional audits to analyze practices and recommend efficiencies and savings. While the audits are generally non-binding, they prove to be an unbiased an eye-opening view of an organization's processes which ultimately drive change and innovation. This legislation will require that all state agencies be subject to an initial performance audit conducted by an experienced auditor. Based on those audits, state agencies which show a demonstrated need for improvement shall be subject to additional audits every three years. State Government is better when ran efficiently, and our current situation makes it so we must conduct proper internal reviews in order to operate our agencies in the most efficient and cost-effective manner. Please join me in co-sponsoring this important piece of legislation. |
