Subject: | Permitting Curbside Salon Product Sales |
In an effort to assist salon owners who are currently unable to provide services to their customers, I intend to introduce legislation permitting the sale of salon products for retail pickup. This “curbside” concept is consistent with Governor Wolf’s approach to the sale of wine and spirits at state liquor stores. Under my legislation, salon owners must adhere to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines during the course of these sales to ensure their safety and that of their customers. This legislation will ensure salon owners engaging in this practice can do so without the fear of license revocation by the Department of State – a warning some have already received. Like most other small businesses, salon owners have been economically devastated by the current shutdown of the state. Providing a means by which they can safely and responsibly sell their products will help mitigate their current financial hardship. For this reason, I ask you to join me in cosponsoring this commonsense legislation. |
