|Subject:||Recognizing the Week of May 3 through May 9, 2020 as “Drinking Water Week” in Pennsylvania.|
|In the near future, I will be offering a resolution recognizing the week of May 3 through May 9, 2020 as “Drinking Water Week” in Pennsylvania.
Ensuring that the water we drink is safe, whether it comes from a private residential well, a public water company, or a bottler, is essential to good health. Fortunately, Pennsylvania is blessed with fresh water resources that are scarce in many parts of the world. Because drinking water is so readily available to us, we often take for granted the significance of this valuable resource.
Water conservation and water quality maintenance are essential to our longevity. Moreover, our Commonwealth's Constitution guarantees every Pennsylvanian’s right to pure water under Article I, Section 27.
Please join me in recognizing this important resource and urging all residents of this Commonwealth to protect and conserve our precious drinking water supply.
