Subject: Resolution Designating April 2020 as Sikh Heritage Month
 
In the near future, I am introducing a resolution to designate April 2020 as Sikh Heritage Month in Pennsylvania. Sikhism is the 5th largest religion in the world and there are over half a million Sikhs in the US, which includes Sikh communities in Upper Darby, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia and other towns throughout the commonwealth. Sikhs have been contributing to America's communities and economy for over 100 years. One of the most sacred days in the Sikh calendar, Vaisakhi, celebrates the beginning of the new year for Sikhs on April 13th, 2020.

​Please join me in recognizing and celebrating Sikh heritage in Pennsylvania.
