Subject:	Construction Cares Month Resolution

In the near future, I will introduce a resolution recognizing November 2019 as “Construction Cares Month” in Pennsylvania, in an effort to pay tribute to all the philanthropic work the construction industry performs in our communities across the Commonwealth. The construction industry is a group of dedicated, hard-working men and women who are instrumental in building and maintaining our infrastructure while improving our quality of life. From the homes we live in, to the highways on which we drive, to the hospitals that care for us, and schools that educate our children – the impact of construction is all around us. However, this industry represents much more than building job sites. The people who work in our construction industry care about the communities in which they live. These individuals volunteer their time to coach our children in sports and mentor the next generation through great initiatives like the ACE Mentor Program and Junior Achievement. Construction professionals offer their expertise and time to organizations such as Rebuilding Together and Habitat for Humanity, as well as working on churches and community centers. There is no doubt the construction industry promotes the betterment of our communities. Please join me in celebrating the generosity and goodwill of this industry by cosponsoring my resolution.
