|Subject:||National Disability Employment Awareness Month|
|In the near future, I intend to introduce a resolution recognizing October of 2019 as National Disability Employment Awareness Month in Pennsylvania.
More than twenty-five years after the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act, individuals with disabilities, including veterans, are making immeasurable contributions to the workforce. Millions of Americans live with disabilities each day, and many others will become disabled at some point in their lives.
Every year, a theme is chosen for National Disability Employment Awareness month. This year’s theme is ‘the right talent, right now.’ This theme represents the commitment to a robust and competitive American labor force.
By designating October 2019 as National Disability Employment Awareness Month, we enable all Pennsylvanians to recognize the contributions of Pennsylvanians with disabilities and encourage all citizens to ensure such individuals are afforded equal opportunities in the workplace. Please join me in co-sponsoring this important resolution.
