Senate of Pennsylvania
Session of 2019 - 2020 Regular Session

MEMORANDUM

Posted: September 25, 2019 03:33 PM
From: Senator Joseph B. Scarnati, III
To: All Senate members
Subject: Max Manufacturing Legislation

In the very near future, I will be introducing legislation to develop advanced manufacturing technologies and processes through a focus on infrastructure, innovation and research and development.

This will be achieved through public-private partnerships between private entities and our state-related universities and the development of programs to fund shared research facilities, shared equipment, and incentives to attract and further “start-up” high-level academic research efforts.

These advanced manufacturing research and development “clusters” will also benefit by the creation of Keystone Energy Zones. These new zones recognize our natural gas assets and will help develop downstream industries. Economic success will come from ensuring a high skilled/research-intensive materials industry with a cluster of companies, advanced manufacturing research and development, and their supply chains locating in these zones.

Please join me in co-sponsoring this important piece of legislation. If you have any questions, please contact Greg Mahon in my office at 717-787-7084.

Introduced as SB900
