Subject: Resolution designating October 24, 2019 as Lights on Afterschool Day
 

As a chair of the Afterschool Caucus, I plan to introduce a resolution designating October 24, 2019 as Lights On Afterschool Day.

Launched in October 2000, Lights on Afterschool is the only nationwide event celebrating afterschool programs and their role in keeping kids safe, inspiring them to learn, and helping working families.

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is committed to investing in the health and safety of all young people by providing expanded learning opportunities that will help close the achievement gap and prepare young people to compete in the global economy.
