Subject: | YMCA 175th Birthday |
I will soon introduce a resolution recognizing the 175th birthday of the YMCA. The first YMCA was established in the United States in Boston, Massachusetts on December 29, 1851. The mission of the YMCA is to put Christian principles into practice through programs and build healthy spirit, mind and body for all. Character is defined in the movement as the demonstration of the YMCA's core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility and is intentionally modeled by YMCA staff for children, youth, adult members and volunteers. The YMCA is for Youth Developement, healthy living and social responsibility. I hope you will join me in sponsoring this resolution. |
