Subject:	Designates the week of May 12-18, 2019, as "National Hospital Week" in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

In the near future, I will be introducing a resolution designating the week of May 12-18, 2019, as “National Hospital Week” in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Hospitals play an integral role in delivering health care services to all persons in this Commonwealth. Hospitals are a key component of Pennsylvania’s economy providing nearly 650,000 direct and indirect jobs. Whether it’s acute inpatient care, outpatient, emergency, rehabilitation and behavioral health, hospitals serve a vital mission. Specialized hospital care in Pennsylvania is provided by 41 trauma centers, 7 burn centers, and 15 critical access hospitals that provide care for the state’s most rural populations. Please join me in recognizing the hospitals and health systems across this Commonwealth and to express our gratitude to the dedicated women and men who provide the services that support the health of our communities.
