Subject: Non-Partisan School Board Elections
 

I plan to re-introduce SB 1191 of last session, legislation to eliminate partisan school board elections. Under my proposed legislation, school directors will be elected at the November municipal election beginning in 2019. Election winners would be seated in December.

Additionally, the number of signatures that candidates will need on their nominating papers will be determined by the size of the school district. Party affiliation will not be listed nor need to be disclosed.
