Subject: | 100th Anniversary of the Violet Oakley Murals |
On Monday, February 4, I will offer a resolution recognizing the 100th anniversary of the Violet Oakley murals. Violet Oakley was a renown muralist and illustrator from Philadelphia. In 1912 she was chosen to design murals for Pennsylvania's new Senate chamber. She was the first woman in the United States to be granted a commission of this size for a public space. Please join me in sponsoring this resolution. |
