Subject: | Creating a Special Honorary Consul License Plate |
I am planning on introducing legislation that would create a license plate for a registered owner who is an honorary consul or official representative of any foreign government. Specifically, the legislation would require the honorary consul or official representative to be a citizen of the United States, pay all required vehicle license fees, and provide a copy of an honorary consul identification card in order to obtain such a plate. It is also important to note that, unlike diplomatic license plates issued by the U.S. Department of State, this plate would in no way confer diplomatic immunity on the vehicle. I hope you’ll join me in sponsoring this legislation. Should have any questions, please contact my office at (717) 787-7105. |
