Subject: | CPR and AED Awareness Week Resolution |
Please join us in co-sponsoring a resolution recognizing June 1 through 7, 2018, as "National Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Awareness Week" in the Commonwealth. In 2007, a coalition of the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, National Safety Council and others worked collaboratively to designate a National CPR and AED Awareness Week. On December 13, 2007, Congress unanimously passed a resolution to set aside June 1-7 each year as National CPR and AED Awareness Week to spotlight how lives can be saved if more Americans know CPR and how to use an AED. For 2018, a new campaign is debuting that reinforces these skills but also places importance on the willingness of bystanders to act in a cardiac arrest emergency. We encourage you to consider joining in this recognition. Thank you. |
