Subject: Designating April 2017 as "Pennsylvania Community College Month"
 

Next week, I plan to introduce a resolution designating the month of April 2017 as “Pennsylvania Community College Month”.

Pennsylvania’s community colleges play an indispensable role in the Commonwealth’s system of higher education by providing accessible and affordable post-secondary education, workforce training, and dual enrollment opportunities for students from all stages and walks of life. The community colleges have served the people of Pennsylvania for over 54 years in these capacities, and they continue to work to better meet the needs of their students and the needs of Pennsylvania employers.

I hope that you will join me, in my role as Co-Chair of the Community College Caucus along with Senator Bob Mensch, in recognizing the outstanding contributions Pennsylvania’s community colleges have made to their communities and the Commonwealth as a whole by co-sponsoring this resolution.
