Subject: | State Constitutional Right to Hunt and Fish |
In the near future I will be introducing a Joint Resolution proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to provide for the right to hunt, fish and harvest game. Currently twenty-one states guarantee the right to hunt and fish in their constitutions, Vermont being the first which dates back to 1777. The freedom to hunt and fish is a valued natural heritage that must be preserved for the citizens of Pennsylvania. These activities also play an important role in the state’s economy and in the conservation, preservation and management of the state’s natural areas and resources. I ask you to join me in cosponsoring this resolution. |
