Subject: Solar Energy- Sales and Use Tax Exemption
 
I will be re-introducing legislation from last session (SB 459) that will provide a sales and use tax exemption for the purchase or use of a solar energy system. For the purposes of this legislation, a “solar energy system” means the equipment and hardware that utilize solar energy for water heating, space heating, cooling or other applications.
