Subject: | Waive Duplicate Drivers License Fee for Veterans |
In the near future I will introduce legislation amending Title 75 (Transportation) to for fee changes for veterans distinction drivers licenses. Currently, men and women of the military are able to obtain a Veterans distinction on their drivers license, similar to the organ donation distinction. This allows veterans to receive discounts from many retailers and other service providers - simply by showing their drivers license. This distinction can be made for free when your license is up for renewal. However, current license holders must apply for a duplicate license at a cost of $28. My legislation would waive that $28 fee for all veterans who wish to obtain the veterans distinction prior to renewal. This small gesture will allow our veterans the distinction they have rightfully earned, at no charge. Please join me in co-sponsoring this legislation. |
