Subject: | Constitutional Amendments Eliminating the Government-Funded Collection of Political Funds |
In the near future, I intend to introduce two Constitutional amendments aimed at ending the practice of having taxpayer-funded payroll systems collect money that is ultimately used for politics. If you have any questions, please contact Jason E. High at 717-787-3817 or jhigh@pasen.gov. |
Introduced as SB500
Description: |
Section 20. The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania shall not use its payroll systems to collect any funds that will be used in any way to advocate for the passage or defeat of any legislation before the General Assembly or that will be used to advocate for the election or defeat of any candidate for public office. This includes but is not limited to charitable contributions, organizational membership fees, union dues, and contributions to political action committees. The Commonwealth shall not enter into any contract compelling the collection of funds in violation of this prohibition. |
