Subject: | Tax incentive for dependent care |
I will shortly re-introduce SB 1431, providing a small business tax credit to assist in day care coverage for employees’ dependents. Under my proposal, businesses with 50 employees or fewer would be given a tax credit of 20 percent for expenses they incur in providing or assisting to provide day care to employees for their children under 12 and their adult dependents (parents, spouses and children with a qualifying disability). The annual credit would be capped at $ 5 million. Companies would be able to carry unused credits over for up to 15 years. Co-sponsors in the previous session included Senators Boscola, Brewster, Costa, Erickson, Farnese, Ferlo, Fontana, Hughes, Kitchen, Kasunic, Leach, Solobay, Stack, Tartaglione, Washington, Williams and Yudichak. |
