From: | Senator Richard A Kasunic |
To: | All Senate members |
Subject: | Assessment Appeal Filing Fee |
In the near future, I will re-introduce two pieces of legislation that will prohibit Second through Eighth Class Counties from charging a filing fee to property owners (residential and commercial) who are appealing the assessed value of their property. These bills, by prohibiting this practice, would preserve the right of the property owner to freely contest the assessed value of his/her land. |
Introduced as SB377
Description: | The first piece will prohibit the fees in Third thru Eighth Class Counties. This was Senate Bill 245 of last session and previous co-sponsors included: WOZNIAK, COSTA, BROWNE, BOSCOLA, ALLOWAY, TARTAGLIONE, WAUGH and FERLO. |
