Subject: | Resolution - 100 Years of Cooperative Extension |
In the near future, Senator Schwank and I will be introducing a resolution commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Cooperative Extension system in Pennsylvania. Signed in 1914, the Smith-Lever Act established the Cooperative Extension as a nationwide educational system that operates via land-grant universities, such as the Pennsylvania State University, to promote youth development and foster science-based research for real-world scenarios. The University works with federal, state and local governments to collaborate on research and academic programs such as 4-H. For the last 100 years, and many more to come, the Cooperative Extension provides an integral service to our state government, our agriculture and our citizens. Please join us in commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Cooperative Extension system in Pennsylvania. |
