Subject: Legislation to Provide Grants for Law Enforcement to Investigate Animal Fighting
 

I am planning to introduce legislation amending title 4 (sec 1408) dealing with Transfers from the State Gaming Fund. Currently, $2 million is transferred annually to the Gaming Control Board for grants to local law enforcement agencies to investigate unlawful gambling. My legislation would require that $250,000 of that amount be transferred to the Attorney General for the purpose of issuing grants to district attorneys to assist them in the investigation, prosecution, and enforcement of laws related to illegal gambling that involves animal fighting.
