Subject: Resolution Designating October as Arts and Humanities Month in Pennsylvania
 
Please join me in sponsoring the following legislation.

On Tuesday, October 1, I will be introducing a resolution designating the month of October as Arts and Humanities Month in Pennsylvania. The resolution will recognize the importance of arts and humanities organizations to our commonwealth and our commonwealth’s economy. Arts and humanities organizations take many forms including museums, cultural and historic groups, festivals and commemorative events. Additionally, according to the Americans for the Arts Study, the nonprofit arts and humanities industry strengthens Pennsylvania’s economy by generating approximately $2.55 billion in total economic activity annually and by supporting the full-time equivalent of 81,000 jobs.
