Subject: Resolution - Local Government Week/Day
 
In the near future, I, along with Senator Robbins, will again be introducing a resolution recognizing April 15, 2013, as “Local Government Day” and April 15-19, 2013, as “Local Government Week” in the Commonwealth.

Pennsylvania is home to a myriad of local government units, which are staffed by dedicated individuals who provide services that are essential to the daily lives of our constituents. As the units of government closest to the people, local governments are the “backbone” of our democratic system of governance in the Commonwealth.

I hope you will join us in showing appreciation for our local governments, their officials, employees, and many volunteers who work hard to provide effective representation and local services to their residents.

Introduced as SR74
