Subject: | Consolidation of School Administrators |
In the near future, I plan to re-introduce legislation requesting the consolidation of all administrative functions of school districts of the second, third, or fourth class within a county to the county level. The governing body of each county shall appoint a single county superintendent for all schools within the county and may employ a solicitor and any such other appointees and employees as it deems proper. This bill was introduced last session as SB 835 and co-sponsored by Senators D. WHITE , FERLO and BOSCOLA Each school district would pay a pro-rata share of the costs based on the number of employees of each school district divided by the total number of employees within the county. This bill was introduced last session as SB 1321. Senator Washington was a co-sponsor of this bill. If you have questions regarding this bill, please contact Josh Myers of my staff at 787-5400 or by email to jmyers@pasenate.com. Thank you for your consideration. |
