Subject:	Fair Prescription Drug Act - FAIR X

Please join me in sponsoring legislation introduced as Senate Bill 900 in the 2011-2012 legislative session by Senators COSTA, HUGHES, WASHINGTON, ERICKSON, FONTANA, TARTAGLIONE, SOLOBAY, SCHWANK, LEACH, BREWSTER, FARNESE and YUDICHAK, that amends the State Lottery Law to establish a new chapter to be called the Fair Prescription Drug Act. Under this legislation, a program would be created to provide reduced prescription drug costs to Pennsylvanians by pooling the prescription programs that Pennsylvania contributes to under the administration of a single Pharmacy Benefits Manager (PBM). The PBM would renegotiate manufacturer rebates and the additional funds would be placed into the PACE Fund for the purpose of expanding the PACE program.
