Subject: Solar Energy- Sales and Use Tax Exemption
 
In the near future, I will be re-introducing legislation, SB 525, which provides for a sales and use tax exemption for the purchase or use of a solar energy system. For the purposes of this legislation, a “solar energy system” means the equipment and hardware that utilize solar energy for water heating, space heating, cooling or other applications.
