MEMORANDUM

Posted: September 11, 2024 09:37 AM
From: Representative David M. Delloso
To: All House members
Subject: Pay Scale for Pennsylvania Game Commission Officers

Every day, officers of the Pennsylvania Game Commission perform vital work to protect the wildlife and forests of Pennsylvania. However, despite the vital role nature and wildlife play in our state, officers such as Pennsylvania game wardens and wildlife conservation officers earn lower salaries than their counterparts in other states and their fellow law enforcement officers in Pennsylvania.

Our Game Commission officers deserve to be compensated fairly for all they do for the Commonwealth. That is why we plan to introduce legislation that would require that officers of the Pennsylvania Game Commission are compensated on the same pay scale as Pennsylvania State Police Officers. This would demonstrate much needed appreciation for officers of the Game Commission and provide further incentive for people around our state to serve our Commonwealth through these professions.

The men and women that preserve our game and wildlife should be recognized and compensated as much as any law enforcement officers, so please join us in giving these officers the salaries they deserve.

Introduced as HB2583
