Subject: Interior Designer and Architect Month / May 2024
In the near future, I will be introducing a resolution to designate the month of May 2024 as “Interior Designer and Architect Month” in Pennsylvania. My resolution aims to celebrate interior designers and architects for their remarkable work in the Commonwealth.

Interior design as a creative profession and interior designers themselves have existed for over 100 years and some say even before that. Through the years, the interior design profession has grown into a specialized service to create inspired living environments for residential and commercial clients.

It is said that the word architect comes from a Greek word meaning “chief carpenter.” The architect’s skill comes from using knowledge of varied design aesthetics, creative concepts, and scientific disciplines to design a plan for building structures.

Interior designers and architects have had a unique and harmonious collaborative relationship for many years. Working together, these two professions combine their creative design skills and strengths to construct buildings that are beautiful and well-functioning, both inside and out.

Both interior designers and architects have demonstrated their skills, creativity and ethical values in their projects and practices and have enhanced the quality of life for the people of Pennsylvania through their design solutions. This resolution recognizes their achievements and expresses gratitude for their service to the state and its citizens. I appreciate your consideration and support.
