MEMORANDUM

Posted: January 9, 2024 09:04 AM
From: Representative Tarik Khan and Rep. Eric Davanzo, Rep. G. Roni Green, Rep. Alec J. Ryncavage
To: All House members
Subject: Public Facilities Infrastructure Grant Program

Pennsylvania’s municipalities manage many responsibilities to keep our local communities functioning. Simply maintaining the status quo is a challenging undertaking for many local governments with access to limited funds and resources. As a result, municipal buildings and facilities often fall into disrepair. Local government employees cannot be expected to work to the best of their abilities if these facilities are not properly maintained and updated. Further, communities deserve to have their local public facilities in good condition.

That is why we will introduce legislation to create a Public Facilities Infrastructure Grant Program. This program will provide municipalities with funding to help maintain, repair, renovate, and reconstruct municipal buildings and facilities, public libraries, and recreational facilities. The program will help local governments update important community fixtures that so many of us use every day.

Please join us in co-sponsoring this important legislation to help municipalities make essential renovations, thereby allowing them to serve our communities better.

Introduced as HB1973
