Subject: | Celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the Good Friday Agreement |
Twenty-five years ago, the Good Friday Agreement ended the Troubles, which was the longest period of conflict in Irish history. Many Pennsylvanians lived through and remember the violence and social upheaval of the Troubles. Some Pennsylvanians immigrated to our great Commonwealth to escape that violence and upheaval. The Good Friday Agreement gave hope to many that conflict would not again break out in Ireland. And the agreement should be celebrated because it largely succeeding in bringing peace to the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. Therefore, I will be introducing a resolution celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Good Friday Agreement. Please join me in supporting Pennsylvania’s Irish community by celebrating this important anniversary. |
