MEMORANDUM

Posted: March 9, 2023 01:11 PM
From: Representative Joseph D'Orsie
To: All House members
Subject: Establishing a Farm Cider License

In the near future I intend to re-introduce legislation that would make it easier for cideries to produce and sell their product. Formerly HB 2798 (2021-2022), this act would establish a Farm Cidery License, separate from a Winery or Malt or Brewed Beverage license. These other licenses would not go away under this bill, it would simply create a distinct Cidery License, which will clarify and streamline the process for this emerging Pennsylvania industry.

This bill is about clearing a way for fruit farmers to produce and sell their cider products, which is unique to Pennsylvania.

Past co-sponsors of this bill include Moul, Jozwiak, Hennessey, Rowe, Causer, Gleim, Fee, Ecker, Smith, Freeman, Oberlander, Zimmerman, Thomas, Maloney, & Pashinksi.

I appreciate your thoughtful consideration in joining me in co-sponsoring this bill.

Introduced as HB874
